TAMPA, Fla. -- Earlier this year, Draper City Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Matt Burchett died while fighting wildfires in California.

To honor his sacrifice and those of countless other firefighters, Pasco County Fire Rescue has partnered with Vector Solutions for a charity truck pull today.

The event is the capstone of Vector Solutions' fundraising efforts to support fallen firefighters. Over the past three months, the company has raised more than $10,000 for the Wildland Firefighters Foundation out of Idaho.

The company's four offices nationwide hosted potlucks, golf challenges, trivia tournaments and bake sales to raise funds.

The truck pull today is from 9-11 a.m. in the WestShore Mall parking lot in Tampa. Two fire trucks are being loaned from Pasco County Fire Rescue.

Pasco fire rescue said more than 150 people have so far signed up for today's event.
