PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday in honor of Pasco County Commissioner Gary Bradford, who passed away last week.
Flags will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset at the Pasco County Courthouse and City Hall in New Port Richey and at the State Capitol in Tallahassee, according to a memorandum issued by the governor.
Bradford died on April 21 at the age of 65 following a battle with leukemia. He served several years with the Tampa Police Department and joined the law enforcement advocacy group Florida Police Benevolent Association before taking office as a Pasco County commissioner representing District 4 in 2022.
This is the third time this month that flags have been flown at half-staff, honoring former senator and Florida Gov. Bob Graham and state lawmaker Bill Gunter, according to the Herald-Tribune.
