FHP: Driver wanted after hitting teen in Pasco County hit-and-run crash

Authorities are searching for the driver responsible.

HOLIDAY, Fla. — A 14-year-old boy is recovering after he was hit by a driver while skateboarding in Pasco County, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. 

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on westbound Moog Road just east of Kingsbury Road in Beacon Square, a census-designated area near Holiday. 

Troopers said the driver of an unknown car, identified only as a sedan with a turn signal on the side mirrors, was going westbound on Moog Road. Once past Kingsbury Road, the driver hit the 14-year-old, who is from Holiday and was skateboarding with traffic along the roadway's north shoulder. 

After hitting the teen, the driver didn't stop and left the scene. 

The 14-year-old suffered "non-life-threatening" injuries in the crash. 

Anyone with information about this hit-and-run and the driver responsible is asked to call FHP troopers at *FHP or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
