Pasco County utility reports reclaimed water service shortages for its customers

The shortages are due to high demand in the county caused by dry weather.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Governmental Utility Authority says it has reduced water pressure Monday for customers in Pasco County because of shortages caused by high demand and dry weather conditions.

Those who use the Seven Springs Reclaimed Water System in New Port Richey and Trinity areas will experience pauses in their service during permitted and non permitted times, and they will do so until conditions improve, the utility said in a news release.

The same advisory goes for those using water from the Consolidated-Mad Hatter Systems in Land O’ Lakes and Lutz, as FGUA receives reclaimed water service from Pasco County Utilities which is experiencing similar conditions.

FGUA says it will “continue monitoring supply levels, and will restore service once supply levels increase."

In the meantime, it advises people to limit their reclaimed consumption and irrigate only during permitted times. People also can consider hand-watering during permitted times.
