CLEARWATER, Fla. — Two men caught on camera beating up a teen and stealing his bike have been arrested just one day after video of the incident was released, according to the Clearwater Police Department.
The men were identified as 45-year-old Enrique Sanchez and 25-year-old Bradley Burroughs, a stepfather and stepson. Both Sanchez and Burroughs were charged with strongarm robbery and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the incident began just before 7 p.m. on May 1, when a teen nearly hit a gray Nissan SUV with his bike in the parking lot of a gas station at Fort Harrison Avenue and Chestnut Street.
Sanchez and Burroughs got in their SUV and followed the teen for several blocks before running him off the road near Hamlet Avenue and Belleview Boulevard, according to investigators.
That's when police say Burroughs jumped out of the passenger side of the SUV, tackled the teen and began beating him.
Cell phone video from May 1 shows a man throwing punches as the bicycle was wedged under the back corner of the SUV.
Police say Burroughs, the stepson, was the one who beat the teen while Sanchez, the stepfather, was the driver who pursued the teen before the beating.
