The Birchwood owner to bring 3 restaurant concepts to St. Pete Pier

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The St. Petersburg City Council on Thursday authorized Mayor Rick Kriseman to execute a lease for a restaurant, cafe and rooftop bar at the new St. Pete Pier.

The Birchwood’s Chuck Prather is set to bring to the Pier District upscale restaurant Teak, rooftop bar Pier Teaki and the Driftwood Cafe.

“I want to thank Chuck Prather and his team for bringing this excellent concept to us and for being a part of our new St. Pete Pier,” Kriseman said in a release. “Teak, Pier Teaki and the cafe will be a unique, outstanding addition to our already excellent food scene in St. Pete.”

Sample menus include offerings like lobster tails, fish tacos, a raw bar and local craft beers. Plans for Teak also include an elegant setting decorated with local art.

Prather’s Teak, Inc. concepts aren’t the only food anchors coming to the 26-acre, $76 million Pier District. Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille was named in January and the lease agreement with restaurant group owner Randy Wayne White was negotiated in April.
