Woman dies week after stolen car crash in St. Petersburg

Charges are pending against four people accused of crashing a stolen car into another vehicle.

A stolen Hyundai Sonata hit a PT Cruiser on Nov. 24 at 18th Avenue S. and 25th Street S. in St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A woman hit by a stolen vehicle a week ago died from her injuries.

St. Petersburg police say Yalanda Speights, 46, died Saturday after the Nov. 24 crash at 18th Avenue S. and 25th Street S.

A stolen Hyundai Sonata hit a PT Cruiser at the intersection, critically injuring Speights. Her mother was seriously hurt.

Three people in the Hyundai were arrested shortly after the crash. A fourth person fled but later was arrested.

Taken into custody were Carl McKinley, 20; Lazarius Faulk, 19, Clifford Washington, 19, and Jaquez Rouse, 18.

Charges are pending.
