The owner, a 15-year-old girl, had received Willow as a gift for her work in a Youth Fair project.

Police were able to track down Willow while they worked to follow leads on the case.

No information on a suspect has been released and police say further details of the rescue are not available at this time.

"The most important thing right now is this young girl has her puppy back safe and sound," said Police Chief David Brannan.
