Tractor trailer, garbage truck accident in Pinellas Park

Pinellas Park, Florida -- Police have reopened 118th Avenue after a crash between a garbage truck and a tractor trailer spilled liquid nitrogen on the roadway.

Around 3:30 a.m., the tractor trailer carrying liquid nitrogen slammed into the garbage truck while it was backing out of a business at 47th Street. Diesel fuel and oil that leaked from the vehicles seeped into the cracks of the roadway and caused damage to road itself.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the garbage truck was cited for improper backing and causing the crash.
