North Port man who went overboard on Royal Caribbean cruise presumed dead

GREAT INAGUA, The Bahamas — A 20-year-old North Port man who went overboard on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship last week is presumed dead, news station WWSB reports.

The U.S. Coast Guard said the man went overboard on the morning of April 4, when the Liberty of the Seas cruise ship was 57 miles from Great Inagua, the southernmost district of the Bahamas.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office confirmed the man's identity as 20-year-old Levion Parker, a North Port High School graduate.

Coast Guard crews said they suspended their search for Parker on April 10 "pending the development of new information."
