SARASOTA, Fla. — Sarasota deputies are investigating after a school bus was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.
It happened near the intersection of Clark Road and Beneva Road.
Sarasota County Schools confirmed that bus #2018 had 35 Venice High School students onboard when it got into the accident. The bus had just left Suncoast Polytechnical High School.
The school bus driver and four students needed "minor medical attention," according to the school district.
Sky 10 aerial footage of the scene showed a tire, debris and large tree limbs on the road.
All lanes of Beneva Road are closed at Meridale Road and are expected to remain closed for several hours.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
