Rides at Universal Studios back open after technical issue resolved

ORLANDO, Fla. — A large portion of Universal Studios Florida was shut down Thursday afternoon after technical issues plagued the popular theme park, multiple media outlets report.

WKMG-TV reports Universal announced the issue before noon, which closed multiple rides including:

  • Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
  • Fast & Furious Supercharged
  • Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
  • Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
  • E.T. Adventure
  • Transformers: The Ride 3D
  • Villain Con Minion Blast
  • The Simpson Ride

In response to people asking questions on X, formerly known as Twitter, leaders with the Orlando-based theme park explained, "Portions of Universal Studios Florida are currently experiencing technical difficulties, and we are working to restore them as soon as possible."

Just three hours later, the theme park reportedly sent out a statement saying the rides were back up and running.

In a statement to WESH, a Universal representative called the issue a "technical downtime." Park guests were asked to check with the Official Universal Orlando Resort App for availability.

10 Tampa Bay reached out to Universal Studios Florida for a statement but has yet to hear back.
