TAMPA, Florida — State health inspectors are turning up the heat this week on restaurants with major health code violations in the kitchen.

The state shut down four restaurants as emergency closures across the greater Tampa Bay area including the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s location in Auburndale at 102 West Polk St.

The establishment was ordered to close Thursday with small flying insects in the food prep area and right around 50 rodent droppings next to the prep table and near the soft drink syrup boxes. The inspector also reported spotting rodent rub marks coming from the ceiling and ordered the restaurant to stop using their dishwashing machine because it wasn’t sanitizing properly.

A manager for the Auburndale Beef’s declined to comment other than to say all the violations had been corrected.

Other emergency closures from last week included:

ROSE CAFE AND CATERING, 38426 5TH AVENUE, ZEPHYRHILLS
The establishment was shut down February 23rd with 5 violations including close to 150 live roaches around the cook line.

DANNY'S ALL AMERICAN CAFÉ, 4406 FALKENBURG RD, TAMPA
This establishment was closed down February 24th with 31 violations including live roach activity, temperature violations and a repeat violation for employee hand washing issues.

CDB'S PIZZA ITALIAN RESTAURANT, 5104 E FOWLER AVE, TAMPA
This pizza parlor sushi restaurant was shut down February 24th with 23 violations including sewage from that bathroom backing up into the sushi area. The inspector also documented live roaches in the pizza oven room, behind the pizza make table, and under the food service cart and.

All four location have since been cleared by state health inspectors to reopen.
