National Weather Service to retire ALL CAPS forecasts

Without much fanfare, the National Weather Service began releasing its forecasts in ordinary upper-lower case Tuesday night, breaking with a century-old tradition of publishing its releases ALL IN UPPERCASE.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Without much fanfare, the National Weather Service began releasing its forecasts in ordinary upper-lower case Tuesday night, breaking with a century-old tradition of publishing its releases ALL IN UPPERCASE.

NBC News reports that the weather bureau had been trying since the 1990s to stop writing like a furious Internet troll, but "it took the next 20 years or so for users of Weather Service products to phase out the last of the old equipment that would only recognize teletype."

All we can say is THANK GOODNESS FOR THE MARCH OF PROGRESS.
