TAMPA, Fla. — The University of South Florida's men's basketball team has reached a new milestone after the program was ranked this week in the Associated Press Top-25 College Basketball Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll.

In both polls, the USF Bulls ranked No. 25 after the team extended its record win streak to 13 victories following their victory against SMU Sunday at the Yuengling Center.

A sellout crowd of 10,000+ fans watched the bulls improve to a 21-5 overall record and 14-1 in the American Athletic Conference. The program now has a three-game lead in the conference standings with three games left in the season.

With one more win they will earn the outright AAC regular season title.

The team's current winning streak is the second-longest active streak in the NCAA this season, just behind the Saint Mary's Gaels with 15 consecutive wins. This streak surpasses a 12-game winning streak set during the 1980-81 season. USF has won 19 of its last 20 overall.

USF's 14 wins in the American Athletic Conference are also the most conference wins in program history, surpassing the 12 victories the team had in the Big East in 2011-12.

South Florida's next game is set for Saturday, March 2 in North Carolina against the Charlote 49ers, who are currently 11-4 in conference play and 17-10 overall.

USF won the first match-up against the 49ers in Tampa, on Tuesday, Feb. 6 with a score of 72-69.
