CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Friday morning, you may have seen a collection of cloudy trails in the sky that left you wondering if you were still dreaming.

What you saw are known as noctilucent clouds from SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launch Friday morning in Cape Canaveral.

Just after 5 a.m., SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched and released 23 Starlink satellites into the sky from the Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, according to the company.

The rocket landed safely about eight and a half minutes after liftoff while the satellites launched were sent to low-Earth orbit, Space.com reported.

This launch was the company’s 22nd this year (33rd total) dedicated to building its Starlink constellation, which is meant to provide high-speed broadband internet service to support “streaming, online gaming, video calls and more,” according to its website.

Pictures sent to 10 Tampa Bay shows the clouds seemingly in a swirl, hovering over roofs and palm trees in the area.
