TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa police officer hit and injured a pedestrian on Busch Boulevard on Friday night
Police said officers responded to a call around 9:17 p.m. regarding an armed and dangerous suspect at the Family Dollar at 1727 East Busch Blvd when Officer David Ziegler hit a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 16-year-old boy, was crossing the street against the traffic signal just east of Nebraska Avenue. After the crash, he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries including a broken knee and nose, according to a Tampa police news release.
The eastbound lanes of East Busch Boulevard were closed from North Nebraska Avenue to North 12th Street for several hours.
