The severe weather has made its way passed Pinellas County and parts of Hillsborough County.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Strong to severe thunderstorms have knocked out power to nearly 2,000 people Tuesday across the Tampa Bay area.

As of this writing, more than 1,800 power outages have been reported in the local region.

Here's what we're tracking so far:

  • Duke Energy: More than 1,500 customers in Pasco and Pinellas counties. Most of the outages are located in the Clearwater area.
  • Tampa Electric: Its outage map shows at least 470 customers are without power. TECO customers in the Lutz area appear to be the hardest hit.

The line of strong to severe storms has made its way through the Nature Coast and southward into Pinellas County. Most of the Tampa Bay area will be in the clear heading into the early evening hours.

TECO customers in the Tampa area can expect to have their power restored as early as 6:50 p.m. and as late as 9 p.m.
