Largo mom accused of killing 2-year-old son has trial date set for March 2020

A judge set the trial date for next year for a Largo mother accused of killing her 2-year-old son. Charisse Stinson's trial is set for March 2, 2020. She is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her son, Jordan Belliveau. Some 35 people are expected to testify in the case. In court Tuesday morning, Stinson’s lawyers said they would be asking for a change of venue for the trial. In addition to the murder charge, Stinson faces a charge of providing false information to a law enforcement agency during an investigation. Police said Stinson lied about Belliveau's disappearance in September, which prompted an Amber Alert. She claimed a man named Antwan offered her a ride and hit her in the face, knocking her unconscious, according to investigators. Detectives say she told them she woke up hours later in a wooded area of Largo Central Park and didn't know where Belliveau was. Investigators say that was all made-up. In addition to murder, Stinson is charged with aggravated child abuse. A pre-trial hearing for Stinson is scheduled for July 9.
