Things to do in Tampa Bay this weekend: April 5-7

This weekend’s events will have you cheering for good community causes at events like the Special Olympics Florida Sunshine Bowl and the Incredible Duck Race.

TAMPA, Fla. — Congratulations! You made it to the end of the first week of April!

There’s no better way to celebrate the weekend than alongside others in your community, supporting good causes and having fun at events like the Kiwanis Club of Tampa’s Incredible Duck Race or Special Olympics Florida’s Sunshine Bowl.

Special Olympics Florida Sunshine Bowl

What: Hosted by Special Olympics Florida, the 2024 Sunshine Bowl welcomes flag football teams from across the country to the Buccaneers’ gridiron for two days of excitement. The tournament is in support of tens of thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

When: Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6. See other important event information here.

The Incredible Duck Race

What: For 10,000 rubber ducks, it’s a competitive race to the watery finish line! You can adopt your own duck participant for $5, for a chance to win a cash prize. All proceeds at this event will benefit the Tampa Kiwanis Foundation, supporting several Tampa Bay children’s programs and charities.

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 6. The race starts at noon. Adopt a duck here.

Keel Farms Blueberry Festival

What: Satisfy your craving for all things blueberries with chances to ride camels, pet zoo animals and jump in colorful bounce houses. The festival will run for the next two weekends.

When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7

56th Annual Dunedin Highland Games and Festival

What: For the 56th time, there will be bagpipes in Dunedin! This event will grant you the chance to envelop yourself in Scottish culture.  

When: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6

Red Bull “Dance Your Style” Tampa Qualifier

What: Dancing talents from Central and South Florida will go head-to-head with other talents from around the country. Crowds could bring them enough energy to propel them to the national final.

When: 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 6. Tickets are available here.
