TAMPA, Fla. — Hospital workers celebrated a big victory when one Wesley Chapel woman was released from the hospital after spending a week there fighting COVID.
She spent four of those days in the ICU.
When she was released, the staff at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel lined the halls to cheer her on.
“Have determination, fight until the end. Don't let this bring us down. Fight until the end,” Tamashri Maharuna said.
A Lakeland pizzeria owner thought COVID-19 shut down his business until a Facebook went viral. Then, locals started buying pizza around the clock, giving the restaurant the boost it needed. Now, the owner is paying it forward by providing free meals for workers at Lakeland Regional health.
Giving back to tiny humans, Hillsborough County deputies dropped off Easter goodies to children at A Kid's place and The Hope Children’s Home. It’s one of several ways they’re supporting nonprofits struggling during this time as well.
As the lights along Tampa’s Riverwalk shine through the night sky, hearts glowing from the top of downtown hotels shine even brighter, showing a message of love and unity.
First responders made their colleagues at Northside Hospital in St. Pete smile as they honked and flashed their lights are they clocked in to wish them well.
