Three long-lost sisters were reunited for the first time in 53 years in the Tampa Bay area this week.
Jennifer Tomsovic, Fran Whiddon and Jody Castle were all adopted to different families in a northwest Indiana area near Chicago.
The three sisters were reunited after they used at home DNA test kits. The sisters said they were using the DNA kits because they wanted to know their ethnicity and for health reasons.
What they didn’t know is it would bring them together.
The sisters don’t think they’re the only siblings from their family out there. They think there might be at least eight total siblings.
They said they would continue the search for more family members and hope other people will be able to fill in some missing links.
The sisters were adopted through Catholic Family Services.
