ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Tropicana Field is gearing up for Rays opening day with new turf, new hi-tech fan experiences and a whole new menu of tasty ballpark treats.
Last year, the Trop introduced the fan-favorite footlong pretzel dog. (Don't worry — that's not going anywhere.) This year, the team is adding items like the pretzel pork Reuben and GF chicken tender basket that are sure to hit it out of the park.
Opening day is set for March 28, but 10 Tampa Bay got a sneak peek at the new menu items fans can get across Tropicana Field this season.
Short rib cheesesteak & nachos
These two new beefy bites will be available at Melted, near sections 142/144 and the Budweiser Porch.
The cheesesteak will feature braised short rib, caramelized onions, cheese sauce and peppadew pepper relish. The nachos include braised short rib, jack cheese sauce, scallions, house-fried potato chips and peppadew peppers.

Korean corn dog
This layered, cheesy treat has taken the internet by storm and landed right here at Tropicana Field.
Fans can enjoy an all-beef hot dog coated with fontina cheese, potato crunch and spicy mayo from Pig + Potato on the Center Field Porch.
Pretzel bites
After the footlong pretzel dog became a Rays fan favorite in 2023, Tropicana Field stepped up its pretzel game. Whether you're feeling sweet or savory, you can take these bite-sized treats from Twisted on the go.
The sweet pretzel bites are coated in cinnamon sugar and vanilla glaze with a caramel dipping sauce.
The everything pretzel bites are tossed in garlic butter, parmesan and fresh herbs and served with a pepper jack cheese sauce.
Southern bird fried chicken
This classic, crispy sandwich may just become your gameday favorite.
Modern Bird and Bird & Batter Express are serving up this dish including crispy fried chicken, arugula, dill pickle spread and tomato jam.
GF chicken tender basket
Our gluten-free friends can finally get in on the chicken tender game.
Enjoy these cornmeal-breaded chicken tenders with crispy-skin fries from Modern Bird and Bird & Batter Express.
Other food options include the pretzel pork Reuben, desserts from Cookie Fueled Mama and a dedicated Chicken Salad Chick counter.
Another new feature is the Gluten-Free Favorites stand which will over gluten-free versions of ballpark favorites like smash burgers, fries and chicken tenders.
