Del Monte recalls thousands of cans of Fiesta Corn

No cases of illness have been reported, the FDA said.

Del Monte has recalled thousands of cases of Fiesta Corn because of under-processing, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced.

No cases of illness have been reported with the issue, which concerns the sterilization process, the FDA said.

The recall covers 64,242 cases of 15.25-ounce cans of the corn, which is seasoned with green and red peppers. The cans have the UPC number 24000 02770 on the label.

The cans will also have one of the following “Best if Used By” dates stamped on the bottom of the can:

  • August 14, 2021
  • August 15, 2021
  • August 16, 2021
  • Sept 3, 2021
  • Sept 4, 2021
  • Sept 5, 2021
  • Sept 6, 2021
  • Sept 22, 2021
  • Sept 23, 2021

The cans were distributed in 12 overseas countries and 25 states, including Florida.

If you have one of the cans, you should return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
