A Pasco County man is accused of trying to pull a senior citizen's jaw apart.
Jamie Lee Byrd, 43, and the woman -- who is more than 65 years old -- live in the same home in Hudson.
It's unclear what led up to the ordeal, but investigators claim it happened Friday evening at that residence near Clamshell Lane and Hudson Avenue.
According to an arrest affidavit, Byrd walked over to the woman and threatened to kill her while she was sitting on her bed. Deputies say he then used both hands to grab her mouth and tried to pull it apart.
"I will pull your jaw off," the affidavit claims he said.
The woman suffered a small laceration to the left side of her face.
The affidavit said Byrd tensed his body while a deputy was trying to arrest him, wouldn't listen to commands and tried to prevent himself from being put in handcuffs.
When the deputy finally got him into custody, Byrd was charged with battery on a person more than 65 years old and resisting an officer.
