SPRING HILL, Fla. — A bar fight ended with two people injured by gunfire early Tuesday morning, deputies said.
The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Sunset Lounge, located at 5429 Spring Hill Drive, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
It's believed at least two people got into an argument at the bar before shots were fired. Deputies say two people were taken from the bar to an area trauma center for treatment of gunshot wounds.
Witnesses at the bar told deputies the suspected shooter possibly left the area by car. Work is ongoing to identify and locate the suspect, the sheriff's office said.
"Detectives do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence, as several witnesses stated the victims and suspect were engaged in conversation before the incident occurred," the agency said in a statement.
