BRADENTON, Fla. — Troopers arrested a man who crashed into a 5-year-old girl playing in the parking lot of a mobile home community, authorities said.
The child died from her injuries at the hospital.
It happened around 5:20 p.m. Friday at the Sunset Village mobile home park off 14th Street West, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report.
Troopers say Adrian Castillo, 45, turned into a parking space where the young girl was playing. She and her siblings were outside when their mother was inside a laundromat, authorities said.
The mother took the girl to the hospital, where she died.
Castillo was arrested for driving while license suspended involving death and booked in the Manatee County Jail, FHP said.
The crash still is under investigation.
