BRADENTON, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the events that led to a Manatee County school bus crashing into a car Thursday in Bradenton.
According to an FHP news release, the school bus traveled down State Road 70 Thursday in the right lane, while a sedan stopped at a red light in the outside lane at the intersection of 53rd Avenue West and 5th Street West.
Troopers said as the sedan driver turned right onto 5th Street West, the bus “failed to keep a safe distance” and hit the sedan in a sideswipe-type fashion.
No one, including the four students, was hurt during the accident. FHP continues to investigate.
