NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- Pasco County deputies have identified the skeletal remains recently found on a 60-acre parcel of land off Barbara Street -- not far from Eagle Point Park in New Port Richey.
The remains belong to Jordan Allen Amos, who would have turned 24 on Dec. 16, according to law enforcement.
Investigators say Amos was homeless.
His body was found Sunday morning.
The medical examiner is still trying to determine his cause of death, although deputies say "nothing suspicious" is currently noted.
Amos' family described him as a hard-worker who wrote poetry and songs, in addition to volunteering at church.
"Jordan loved God, his family and animals," his aunt Robin Gilbert told 10News. "His smile and laugh were contagious."
Amos' family members had been searching for him since he disappeared. According to Gilbert, Amos lived with a mental illness and was most comfortable in the outdoors.
