Skeletal remains found in New Port Richey; detectives unsure about foul play

Pasco County deputies are investigating skeletal remains found on a 60-acre parcel of land off Barbara Street -- not far from Eagle Point Park in New Port Richey.

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- Pasco County deputies are investigating skeletal remains found on a 60-acre parcel of land off Barbara Street -- not far from Eagle Point Park in New Port Richey.

Investigators were dispatched shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Authorities say a walker found the remains, which were only partially clothed and without any identifying marks.

At this early stage in the investigation, detectives are unsure if the person was the victim of foul play.

Neither the deceased individual's sex nor the cause of death is known at this time.
