A 15-year-old girl is missing out of South Florida and she may be in danger, according to a release from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

On Tuesday, FDLE activated a missing child alert for Maya Moore. Officials said the teen, who is from Plantation, was last seen off West Broward Boulevard near the American Heritage School campus. She was last seen wearing a black and yellow uniform from the school.

Maya Moore may be in the company of 68-year-old Michael Moore, according to the alert. FDLE did not say whether the two are family members of one another.

Investigators believe the two could have headed toward Homestead, a neighborhood further south past Miami.

They may be traveling in a gray 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander with the Florida license plate number 'QUFS45', officials said.

Maya Moore is 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 110 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. Michael Moore is 5 feet 11 inches tall, about 200 pounds and has gray hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on where the teen may be is asked to contact the Plantation Police Department at 954-797-2100, or call 911.
