ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A major crash shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 275 Tuesday afternoon in St. Petersburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said a commercial vehicle jackknifed around 4:45 p.m., blocking all southbound lanes and spilling fuel onto I-275 near 28th Street South.

Traffic was being diverted off of 28th Street South for several hours.
