SARASOTA, Fla. — While rescuers were trying to help an injured sea turtle, they stumbled across another animal that needed help.
A crew from Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium was responding for the turtle when the group noticed a raccoon stranded on a channel marker in Sarasota.
They teamed up with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, as well as the Sarasota and Longboat Key police marine patrols, to save and release the furry friend.
The Sarasota Police Department released footage of the rescue operation, which you can watch above.
