TAMPA, Fla. — A motorcyclist's arm was partially severed during a crash in Tampa on Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened about 3:47 p.m. on Hillsborough Avenue east of Webb Road.

Troopers said a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria didn't yield the right of way and turned left in front of the motorcycle, which was going the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, 30-year-old Jerry Vincent Cedeno, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with a partially severed left arm.

The Ford's driver, Dolores S. Carter, 78, was cited for failure to yield. She was not hurt.
