Lightning topple Hurricanes 8-5; notch first preseason win

TAMPA, Fla — Tampa Bay exploded in the third period to come back and defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 8-5 at Amalie Arena.

The Lightning scored five goals in the final period to secure their first win of the preseason.

Gabriel Fortier was the star for the Bolts, recording a hat trick. 

The Hurricanes outshot the Lightning 44-26.
